Welcome online math students!

*Very Important-Read First*

Do not open your Hawkes Learning disk or buy an access code until you have read this message.

This format of algebra is VERY difficult for some people to learn with. Often times it will feel like you are teaching yourself how to do the problems. I do not lecture in this course. Your software provides some amount of instruction and practice, and you must make sure that you are seeking the additional resources you need to succeed. You will have to work extremely hard to be successful. If you struggle with algebra or learn best from face-to-face teaching, I strongly urge you to reconsider taking the course in this format.

Another important thing to consider this that you will have two proctored exams (midterm and final) during the semester. You will need to either travel to EMCC, or an approved alternate location to take these exams. No exceptions will be made in this regard.

Remember, software or access codes cannot be returned once they are opened.

Feel free to talk to me by email: gperrow@emcc.edu or phone 974-4852 before proceding. Email will typically be a faster response.

Important summary about these online math courses:

We do not use blackboard, we use Hawkes Learning Software
You are required to take a proctored midterm and final, no exceptions
If you struggle with math or have limited access to a computer, the online format is not for you
